Mrs. Jena, 85, a resident of Moran’s Nursing Home, Bellwood, and formerly of Glasgow, died at 4:30 pm Friday January 28, 2005 at the Tyrone Hospital.
She was born in Irvona on March 3, 1919 a daughter of the late Nicholas and Mary (Zayoc) Lonesky. On July 11, 1935 in Blandburg she married Joseph C. Jena who died June 25, 1975. Surviving are 4 children: Anna Jena and Paul, both of Blandburg, John, Fallentimber and Mary Komlenic, Coulters; 12 grandchildren, 20 greatgrandchildren, 4 greatgrandchildren and 13 siblings: Katherine Brunner, Bellwood; John, Glasgow; Michael, James and Joseph, Blandburg; Rose Downey, Bristol; Frank, Roanoke, VA.; Helen Downey, Jackson, OH.; Stella Wood and Mary Pfahler, Altoona; Nicholas, Sellersville; Christinia Lyon, Frederick, MD.; and Charles, Glen Hope. She was also preceded in death by a greatgranddaughter Ashley McGarvey, a sister Tressia and a brother Walter.
Anna had attended the School for the Deaf, Wilkinsburg, enjoyed spending time with her family, doing needlework, puzzles and reading.
She was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Frugality where Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday at 11:00 am with Fr. George Gulash officiating. Interment in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Glasgow. Friends received Monday 2-4 & 7-9 at the McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow where a wake service will be held Monday afternoon.
