Alfred Simmers, Jr.

Mr. “Junior” Simmers, 85, Van Ormer, died Sunday, February 10, 2013 at ARHS. Born April 27, 1927 in Van Ormer a son of the late Alfred N. and Ida M. (Mayes) Simmers. He is survived by a brother John M. of Utahville. He was also preceded in death by a brother Fred and four sisters Ellen, Flora Matthew, Dorothy Helsel and Anna.

Alfred served as a Corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was employed as a packer at Puritan Sportswear, Duncansville, retiring in August, 1989 after 45 years employment.

He was a member of Hollentown Assembly of God where funeral services will be held Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at 11:00 am with Pastor Joe Hollen officiating. Friends received at McQuown Funeral Home Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm and Wednesday 10:00 am until the time of services at the church. Interment in Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton.
