A. "Marty" Burchner Obituary

Mr. Burchner, 57, Van Ormer, died unexpectedly Thursday, March 30, 2023 at his residence from an apparent heart attack.  He was born June 30, 1965 in Altoona, a son of the late Gary M. and Marcelle (Cafasso) Burchner.  On June 25, 2022, in East Freedom, he married Judith K. Green who survives along with seven children Jessica (John) Smida and Chance Burchner, both of Altoona, Jason (Bridget) Seely of Suffolk, VA., Josh Seely of Coalport, Michael Snyder of Duncansville, Brian Gates of Ashland, OH. and Karmaa Wilt Green of Fallentimber, a granddaughter Pyper Smida, many step-grandchildren, four siblings Maria (Rick) Fox, Jimmy Joe (Barb) Walters and Edie Ann Walters, all of Altoona, Andy (Anna) Walters of Clarksville, TN., his aunt Louise Walters, of Altoona, who raised him from age 12 and his step-mother Jean Smay of Martinsburg.  He was preceded in death by his parents and grandmother Mary Cafasso.

     Marty was a 1983 graduate of Bishop Guilfoyle High School and was employed at New Enterprise, Tyrone as a heavy equipment operator.  He was an avid gun collector and old car enthusiast.

      A memorial gathering will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 beginning at 3:00 pm at the Pinecroft Fire Hall.  A luncheon will be served immediately following.  Arrangements by McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow.
