Mary Lee (McClellan) Shope

     Mrs. Shope, 72, Coalport, died Friday, April 19, 2019 at McKinley Health Center at Laurelbrooke Landing, Brookville.  She was born August 18, 1946, in Glasgow, a daughter of the late Cecil C. and Mildred L. (Moberly) McClellan.  On September 17, 1967 in Hollentown she married Wayne C. Shope who survives along with three children Kasandra L. “Kandie” Black of Glasgow, Wayne C. “Buddy” Shope, Jr. of Coalport and Allyson A. (Scott) Flick of Irvona, four grandchildren Olivia Anderson, Scott Flick, II, Samantha Black and Joshua Flick, two great-granddaughters Audrey McGary and Waverly Anderson and six siblings Nila A. Henry and Patty L. Harrison, both of Irvona, Cecil C. McClellan, Jr. of Blandburg, Donna J. Crowell of Coalport, Leon A. McClellan of Glasgow and Linda F. Hockenberry of Tyrone.

     Mary Lee was a 1965 graduate of Reade Twp. High School.  She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Education and a Bachelor of Science in Library Science, both from Penn State.  She had been a substitute teacher in various area school districts and had taught GED classes at Glendale School District and was a former area Girl Scout leader.

     There will be no viewing.  Friends and family are invited to a memorial gathering on Saturday, April 27, 2019 from 5:00 pm until the 6:30 pm memorial service at McQuown Funeral Home, Glasgow with Kim Myers officiating.  In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations payable to the funeral home to help with funeral expenses.
