Allen Glass

     Mr. Glass, 83, Sinking Valley, died Thursday, May 2, 2019 at his residence following a lengthy illness.  He was born January 25, 1936, in Fallentimber, a son of the late Dolphus and Grace M. (Kruis) Glass.  On September 7, 1957, in Altoona, he married Betty A. Gates who survives along with a daughter Debora A. Brown of Altoona, three grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and three sisters Elsie Martin-Keith of Duncansville, Bernice Krise of Fiske and Ruth Connelly of Ebensburg.  He was also preceded in death by a son Roy Allen Glass, a sister Grace Seiders and four brothers Roy, Dale, Ronald and Melvin.

     Allen was a 1954 graduate of Beccaria-Coalport-Irvona High School and had served in the United States Air Force as a Staff Sergeant during the Korean War.  He retired in 1990 from the James E. VanZandt Veterans Hospital, Altoona, having been employed as a Bio-Medical Technician. 

     He had attended the Altoona Bible Church where he volunteered in many capacities to serve his Lord.  He loved his family and working with children, especially with the Christian Boy’s Brigade.

     Family and friends are invited to a memorial gathering on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 from 10:00 am until the 11:00 am memorial service at Altoona Bible Church with Pastor Stewart W. McClelland officiating.  Burial in Beaver Valley Cemetery, Flinton.
